Costa Rica trip

I will be leaving for Costa Rica on Feb. 28 and returning March 12. I am going with Mass. Audubon again (my last trip was to Ecuador) and will be one of 9 participants and 1 leader.
I love bird watching and being outdoors and doing new things. I'll post a few pictures when I return. The hummingbirds alone are so spectacular that equally beautiful birds often get forgotten. The landscapes are also very special and will be very different from Ecuador. We will be in a cloud forest, near a volcano and along a very remote river. This last week will be full of cramming to learn the birds for each region. I'll be on malaria pills and will tale plenty of bug spray to keep from getting denge fever. Yes, birding is worth all of the rain, bugs, and early morning ventures. Stop back in 2 weeks to see how it went.

Pinkham Notch Jan 09

Jim, Amy and Michael snowshoeing to Lost Pond. Nice quick hike that is fairly level. Great for families.

Just got back from vacation and getting into the swing of school week. I'm looking forward to cleaning the house and porch this weekend, Labor Day weekend. It certainly will be labor. Hope to get outside to enjoy some of this beautiful weather; cool, breezy, sunny and dry.
